Second Pressing of the record. Comes with an insert. These were printed before Chris Clavin was outed for abuse and sexual assault; as such, they have all the old packaging featuring Plan-It-X. We're sorry about that. For more info: www.facebook.com/ramshackleglory/posts/1547150671995052

Hey all! This is the very end of the Live the Dream 2nd pressing. There will never be a third pressing. The records in these are all fine, the sleeves have bent corners or whatnot, so I'm listing them for cheap.

about

This album is a story about the first year of sobriety, from the perspective of a punk and an anarchist, and the events that led up to getting sober in the first place. For anyone interested in this sort of thing, you can click on the song titles to learn more about the song and how it fits into the story.

Broadly speaking, the first and second half of the album constitute separate "acts." The first act occurs before I got sober, or very shortly after. The second act is about being sober.

In the chronological order of the events described on the album, this song is exactly in the exact middle. In this song, I move across the country to get clean because I can't stop shooting heroin in the town where I am from.

Perhaps most importantly, I want to say to anyone else who is struggling with addiction that seeking help was the best thing I have ever done. It was really hard. It was contrary to my nature. I did it anyway.

People write me e-mails asking for help or advice. The only advice I can give you is not to write off treatment programs, twelve step programs, or whatever else is available to you in seeking recovery. Some people get sober without those things. I could not, and did not, so I have no experience to give you about that.

The day I let go of being too rebellious/punk/atheist/anarchist/badass/etc to accept the help being offered in those places was the first day of my life.

Today I am free. I might not be tomorrow. Let's not waste time being too damn cool to have a good life. In love and solidarity,

Pat "the bunny."

lyrics

no one needs to tell me how to get (get get) down. but won’t somebody show me how to get back up? i thought about killing my landlord, but he was pretty nice. instead, i paid my rent on time as often as i could. i’ve been making strange friends in the desert; (yeah) they love jesus and america too. it ain’t as bad as it sounds, someday i’ll explain it to you. it’s not that i mind sleeping all alone in the grass, it’s just that i’ve been dreaming since…well, maybe i ain’t woke up yet. but nothing’s been quite the same since you shot yourself. i don’t know if you believe in ghosts. i hope you’d haunt me if you were one. i’ve been trying not to steal from everybody i know but so far that’s impossible. but here in the desert, somehow i hope that someday it won’t be that way for me. no it won’t…be that way for me, anymore.
